My first article was published today by NewMusicBox, the online zine affiliated with New Music USA. The article, "Calls for Scores: The Teenage Years of a Composing Career" offers a few suggestions for ensembles and organizations to consider when creating an opportunity for composers to work with them via a call or competition. My hope is that the calls for scores process can become more holistic, compassionate, and accessible for all parties involved.
